Tournament Rules Rugby World Cup :
In Rugby World Cup there are 20 teams distributed to four pools of five Teams each.
The number of Match points will be awarded for each pool are following :
Win 4 points
Draw 2 points
4 or more tries 1 point
Loss by 7 points or less 1 point

Rugby World Cup 2007 Tournament Schedule

There are total 20 nations in this Rugby World Cup competing over a month.There are two stages in this Tournament, a group and a knock out.

POOLS:

POOL A: England, Samoa, South Africa, USA Tonga.

POOL B: Australia, Fiji, Wales, Japan, Canada.

POOL C: New Zealand, Italy, Scotland, Romania, Portugal.

POOL D: France, Argentina, Ireland, Namibia, Georgia.

Quarter-Finals:
QF 1: Winner of Pool B plays the Runner-up of Pool A.
QF 2: Winner of Pool C plays the Runner-up of Pool D.
QF 3: Winner of Pool A plays the Runner-up of Pool B.
QF 4: Winner of Pool D plays the Runner-up of Pool C.

Semi-Finals:
SF 1: Winner of QF 1 plays Winner of QF 2.
SF 2: Winner of QF 3 plays Winner of QF 4.

Finals:
Winner of SF 1 plays Winner of SF 2.
